প্রতিবারের ন্যায় এবারো দ্য কুইনস কমনওয়েলথ রচনা প্রতিযোগিতার আবেদন গ্রহণ শুরু হয়েছে। এ রচনা প্রতিযোগিতাকে বলা হয় পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে পুরনো রচনা প্রতিযোগিতা। প্রতিবছর হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ এ প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেন। বাংলাদেশসহ কমনওয়েলথভুক্ত দেশগুলোর শিক্ষার্থীরা এ প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নিতে পারবেন। রচনা জমা দেওয়ার শেষ সময় ১৫ মে ২০২৪।
এ রচনা প্রতিযোগিতায় দুটি ক্যাটাগরিতে অংশ নেওয়া যাবে। প্রতিটি ক্যাটাগরি থেকে দুজন করে মোট চারজন অংশগ্রহণকারী পাবেন এক সপ্তাহের জন্য ইংল্যান্ড ভ্রমণের সুযোগ। একই সঙ্গে লন্ডনের রয়্যাল প্যালেসে একটি বিশেষ পুরস্কার বিতরণীতে অংশ নিতে পারবেন, যেখানে সার্টিফিকেট, গোল্ড, সিলভার ও ব্রোঞ্জপদক প্রদান করা হবে।
এই রচনা লিখতে কোনো বিশেষ কিংবা শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতার বাধ্যবাধকতা নেই। তরুণদের অর্জন ও কৃতিত্বকে স্বীকৃতি দেওয়ার এবং তাঁদের কণ্ঠকে উন্নত করা ও দক্ষতা বিকাশের অন্যতম একটি উপায় হচ্ছে এই সৃজনশীল রচনা লেখা।
ইংল্যান্ডের রয়েল কমনওয়েলথ সোসাইটি আয়োজন করে থাকে এই সৃজনশীল রচনা প্রতিযোগিতার। কমনওয়েলথ ৬৫টি দেশের একটি স্বেচ্ছাসেবী নেটওয়ার্ক। ২০২৪ সালে যার বয়স ৭৫ বছর হতে চলেছে।

* বয়স: ১৪ বছরের নিচে (১৬ মে ২০১০-এর পর জন্ম)

জুনিয়র ক্যাটাগরির জন্য টপিক লিস্ট
১. What new habit could you adopt to positively contribute towards a greener Commonwealth?
২. Write a dialogue between yourself and a grandparent about resilience and hope. What can you share with the older generation, and what can you learn from them?
৩. You are taking part in a beach clean-up and discover that you can speak to sea creatures. What are they saying, and how do you respond?
৪. You’re on a school exchange in a Commonwealth country different to your own. How do you make friends with people your age? (Consider similarities and differences in culture that may unite you).

* বয়স: ১৪-১৮ বছর (১৬ মে ২০০৫ থেকে ১৫ মে ২০১০-এর মধ্যে জন্ম)

২. Write a speech highlighting what you think is the most challenging issue facing the world today, and how Commonwealth values can be used to solve it.
৩. At the heart of Samoan way of life is ‘aiga’, meaning ‘family’ values including selflessness, hospitality, co-operation, respect and dignity. What core values and ideas from your culture can be used to enhance co-operation and community in the Commonwealth?
৪. The Commonwealth’s London Declaration aimed to strive for peace, liberty and progress. Write a letter to your President or Prime Minister about how to achieve those aims.
